Welcome to the official web site of the City of Prospect Heights. I hope you will take this opportunity to view the site and examine what the City has to offer. On this website, you will be able to view meeting dates and council minutes, view building requirements and permits, and see the different City services that are offered.

Quality of life is important to us and we are constantly working to enhance it. We hope that you and your families are proud of your community and will also continue to grow with us. We strive to provide residents, businesses and visitors with the information they need to live, work and play in the Prospect Heights.

A list of e-mail addresses for staff and Aldermen is available on the City Government, City Council, City Services, Administration and City Directory pages on the website. Thank you for taking the time to visit. Be sure and visit again as we will constantly update news and calendar.

For insurance companies, lenders, and realtors, the City can assist with obtaining information regarding property status as it relates to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Please read the letter prepared by the Engineering Department for further detail on this service. Additional information and resources can also be obtained from the Federal Emergency Management Agency website at www.fema.gov.

The City is also part of the NFIP Community Rating System. Through the efforts of our City Council in establishing proper codes and floodplain regulations, residents required to purchase floodplain insurance automatically receive a 10% reduction in their premiums if purchased through the NFIP. Part of the Engineering Department?s responsibilites includes assisting our residents with issues they may have with respect to floodplains or local flooding problems. Please read the fact sheet prepared by the Engineering staff regarding flood protection and for more information about how FEMA can assist residents in floodplains visit their website at http://www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/floodins/infocon.shtm.
