On June 21st, the City of Prospect Heights will host a Document Destruction Recycling Event at the Metra Train Station (55 S Wolf Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Residents from the City of Prospect Heights and other SWANCC communities are eligible to participate. Materials will not be accepted from non-SWANCC residents, businesses, schools, or institutions, and IDs will be checked for verification of residency - https://www.swancc.org/about_us/members_page.php
All participants must follow these Safety Guidelines:
- Residents must remain in their vehicle.
- Residents are asked to unlock/open the trunk to allow staff to unload the items.
- Paper documents should be contained in one area in the back of the vehicle in paper bags or small boxes – not in plastic bags! Boxes and paper bags will be returned to the resident.
About Paper:
Residents will be limited to six (6) file-sized boxes or paper bags of documents containing personal information, such as medical history forms, bank statements, personal files, and retired tax forms. Paper documents will be shredded on site. Bales of shredded paper will be transported to mills to make new paper products.
